Dear Sir,

I congratulate Dr. Ravi Prakash for drawing our attention to the need for collaborative and interdisciplinary studies into the intriguing area of neurocognition. [1] India has a long history and tradition on exploring the depths of self (athma) and the ultimate (paramathma). Today, several modern tools of functional neuroimaging have enhanced our ability to explore these sublime neurological functions to greater detail. Information technology, computational potentials and informatics have enhanced these skills. I would agree with Dr. Prakash that the need of the hour is that scientists from all these disciplines join hands and work together to explore these areas of higher mental functions.
