Dear friends and colleagues,

Greetings from PGIMER, Chandigarh!!!

It is a matter of great honour and privilege to welcome you all to the prestigious 22nd annual conference of Indian Academy of Neurology, IANCON 2014. PGI, Chandigarh, the temple of learning and creator of many eminent neurologists across the world, is all decked to enlighten your spirits during conference days. The organising committee has worked hard to leave no stone unturned to give you an experience worth remembering for decades to come.

The Scientific committee of IAN under the leadership of Dr. Meshram has introduced many new academic initiatives in IANCON 2014. We have introduced an interactive thrilling Quiz for the first time: IAN-BARBeQue (IAN Best All Round Brain Quiz). We are sure this is going to be one of the most sought after events in the forthcoming IANCONs in the years and decades to come. Moreover we have also introduced new sessions like NEURO-RADIOLOGY ROUNDS; PEARLS IN NEUROLOGY and many others, which will leave a lasting impression on everyone's mind. Most of our symposia will emphasise less on lectures and more on interactive cases, so that there is a TAKE HOME MESSAGE in EVERY MOMENT spent in PGI.

In recent years, the field of neurosciences has witnessed an impetus not only in diagnostics but also in therapeutics. The organising committee and the executive committee has worked really hard to provide an academic feast, which can satiate the desire of everyone with everything, covering major breakthroughs and developments in different fields of neurology with special emphasis on Movement disorders, Headache, Neuro-ophthalmology, Epilepsy, CNS infections, Multiple sclerosis, Stroke and much more…..

The organising committee has planned memorable dinners with soothing cultural delights and world class cuisines on all three nights. We have arranged a dinner at the Royal Mughal Gardens of Pinjore. The venue will be tastefully decorated to give a royal treat to all the delegates: a moment worth enjoying. It is going to be a life time experience of pleasure experienced by Mughal Emperors centuries ago. We have also booked the world famous Rock Garden, Chandigarh is known for, to express our thanks and gratitude to all those, who joined us in the great endeavour. We have made special arrangements to make it a memorable event for everyone to enjoy and cheer and take all good memories of every moment spent in Chandigarh. The ever charming Chandigarh environs are even more capricious and embalming to the senses during early winters.

We welcome you once again to the most beautiful and the most green city of India with world famous Rose garden and Rock garden and the captivating Sukhna lake.

Sudesh Prabhakar Vivek Lal Manish Modi

Chairman Organising secretary Treasurer
